Co-curricular Activites

Co-curricular activities are activities that take place along with the academics and thus reinforce or supplement classroom curriculum in many ways. They are graded and offered to the academic credit, and will provide complementary learning of CC Activities. These activities take place outside/inside the traditional classroom.

CO-CURRICULAR ADVANTAGES

  Activities like participation in games, debates, music, drama, etc., help in achieving the overall functioning of education.

  CCA enables the students to express themselves freely through debates.

  It helps to develop the spirit of healthy competition.

  These activities guide students on how to organize and present an activity, how to develop skills, how to co-operate and co-ordinate in different situations and thereby help in leadership qualities.

  It provides the avenues of socialization, self-identification, and self-assessment when the child comes in contact with organizers, fellow participants, teachers, and people outside the school during cultural activity.

  Inculcate the values to respects other’s views and feelings.

  It makes the child perfect in decision making.

  It develops a sense of belongingness.

  CCA provides motivation for learning.

  CCA develop physical, psychological, Ethical, academic, civic, social, aesthetic, cultural recreational and disciplinary values.

Examination

  Daily dictation of ten words during the home rule period.

  There will be monthly test, other than regular tests. LKG and UKG will have only three examinations.

  For Std X & XII, there are weekly tests on Fridays/Saturdays

  Please refer to the Calendar Section for the dates of each examination and the dates on which Progress Reports are issued to the students.

  Each Termly Examination will be based on the portions taught till that examination from the beginning of the Academic Year. The portion taught during the whole year will be included in the final examination. The portions will be given to students before the examinations.

  The Model Examination for std XII & X will be based on the complete syllabus as prescribed by the CBSE Board. The Annual Examination of Std XI and IX CBSE will be based on the Syllabus prescribed by the Board. The model and annual examination for Std. IX-XII will be based on the syllabus prescribed by CBSE board.

  Parents are advised to watch the progress of their children very closely, consult the teachers and take their advice whenever necessary.

  The answer papers of all examinations (except the final exam) will be sent to the parents for their scrutiny, signature and return. This provides the opportunity for parents to monitor the performance of their children.

  Suitable changes in the mode and pattern of examinations will be made when found necessary. Such changes will be intimated to the students in advance.

  The students are strictly forbidden to borrow any writing or stationary articles from other students in the examination hall.

  Copying in the examination hall is strictly prohibited and is punishable

Courses

THE CBSE CURRICULUM

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is a national level board of education in India for public and private schools, controlled and managed by Union Government of India.

PROMOTION CRITERIA
Class X

For promotion from Secondary level (Class IX-X) to Senior Secondary level (Class XI-XII), a student must obtain, for all subjects (or best 5 if 6 subjects are taken), 33% overall.

For a student who does not manage to pass up to two subjects, he/she can write the compartment in those subjects in July. For those who fail the compartment, or those who fail in three subjects or more, must rewrite all the subjects taken in the next year.

Class XII

For class XII students the promotion criteria is 33%seperate minimum for in both theory and practical examinations (if applicable). For a student who does not manage to pass in exactly one subject, he/she can write the compartment for that subject in July. For those who fail the compartment, or those who fail in two subjects or more, he/she must rewrite all the subjects taken in the next year.

 The school prepares students for the class X CBSE Board examination which is recognized for admission to the Plus Two course in the Indian Schools/Universities.

 The School also offers Plus Two course which is equivalent to the Pre-degree course and Higher Secondary Course giving eligibility for admission to Professional Courses. English, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Business Studies, Accountancy and Computer Science are the subjects offered by this School. The AISSE/AISSCE course is the only course in India to receive accreditation in foreign countries.

 The medium of instruction is English. Malayalam and Hindi are compulsory languages for standard I to VIII. From Standard IX to X Hindi or Malayalam is to be chosen along with English.

 For XI & XII, English is the only option for students.

Admission

  Admission to LKG class will commence in the month of October. Application forms and prospectus will be issued from the school office.

 The Principal reserves the right to reject any application without assigning any reason.

 The minimum age for admission to LKG class is 4 years and to standard I is 6 years on the first of June of the year of study.

  Admission to all classes other than LKG is strictly restricted to the number of vacancies arising in each class every year.

 Admission to Std XI will commence as soon as the CBSE results are published. Admission will be strictly on the basis of merit.

  Students seeking admission from other states or countries should produce Transfer Certificates countersigned by competent educational authorities/embassies of the state or country
